Monsoon - A restaurant & bar in Colombo that serves south east asian cuisine requested from a brand extention and launch event ideas. The typeface MONSOON in the below image was already created by the client as a logo.
Concept
We took the weather condition and its attributes such as the wind, clouds, rainand tied it up with the monsoon brand. Relating experiencing the actual weather condition to experiencing the restaurant ‘Monsoon’ (Inspired by a fictional brief that I tackled during college).
Monsoon in its core is a change in the wind. We used this as a base experience and turned it into our visual direction.
With a combination of colours inspired by the interior of the restaurant, we made the visual direction into something lively and fun. The overall execution style of the visuals relate back to the rustic feel of the interior of the restaurant.
We added the elements of wind as the circular lines and clouds to extend the visual of the brand and logo.
